and her husband, the former Imperial Ambassador, have returned to England. Such a scandal, the lady running off with a commoner. But no one even noticed she was missing, not until they were in Savoy, safe and settled. Henry had been too consumed by the Boleyn whore to notice the Lady Mary’s disappearance.
We can only wonder what would have happened to them, if the Lady’s cousin, the Emporer, did not intercede on their behalf… even so, one cannot say no to a summons from the King of England. He is forcing them to spend this Christmastide at court. No doubt the whole situation could turn… ugly.
Although it has been heard that their daughter, the charming little Katherine, is a wonder to behold, even at age eight… we all wonder how she will get on with her uncle, Prince Edward…
